Volunteers around the world are providing crucial support to the Vietnam Pheasant Recovery Project. There are many ways you can help. Volunteering for an active project can be very rewarding and can lead to experiences and skills that could be used for other conservation projects. It can also be fun and an opportunity to make new friends.
As our facility in Vietnam grows, a volunteer program officer will be put in place and more details will be posted on this website. We will be looking for reliable people with a passion for conservation who can work virtually with a team. Avicultural experience is not always necessary and many roles can be achieved from your own home
These are some of the roles where volunteers can make a difference to the success of a project:
Volunteer - Trainee Keepers. Based in Vietnam. A three -month minimum placement.
Trainee aviary technician.
Trainee Conservationist.
Assisting aviculturists in the conservation centre in central Vietnam. This is a rare opportunity to experience first-hand how an in-situ conservation centre is managed while setting up for a reintroduction. This role is led by the Vietnature Project Officer and Curator.
Volunteer - Veterinarian. Based in Vietnam. A three -month minimum placement.
Assisting with care and disease control protocols of the Vietnam Pheasant.
This role is led by the Vietnature Project Officer and the Curator.
Volunteer - Research Assistance. Based in Vietnam. A 5 -month minimum placement.
Performing studies of pheasants’ behaviour pre and post release.
Achieving joint written reports for publication.
This role is led by the Vietnature Project Officer and Curator.
Volunteer - Education Assistant. A home -based role.
Assisting with Educational design and impact of our website, leaflets and press releases.
Forming ideas for an educational program for use in Vietnam.
This role is led by Vietnature Program Officer.
Volunteer- Volunteer Coordinator Assistant. A home- based role.
